Bhojpuri film on Bandit Queen Shakuntala

Once a synonym of terror in the area of North Bihar and Nepal, bandit queen Shakuntala will now be seen in a movie based on her own life. This movie will depict the life of Shakuntala while she herself will role of Shakuntala. The movie too has been named SHAKUNTALA. After surrendering herself to the police and then engaging herself to the social works, Shakuntala's life matches the life of Phoolan Devi to a very large extent. Needless to tell that the hindi movie Bandit Queen was based on Phoolan Devi's life.

Shakuntala was recently launched at Garden Court Club at Patna. On this occassion, many leaders and respectable people were present alongwith Awadhesh Mishra who is playing a role in the movie, lyricist Vinay Bihari, Choreographer Kanu Mukherjee, Item Dancer Seema Singh and the producer of the movie Vinod Kumar Singh and director P. Rajkumar were present. At this occassion, Shakuntala said that through this movie, she wants to show the troubles, tyranny and oppression she had gone through which forced her to take the criminal path.
