Deswa gets selected for South Asian Film Festival

Nitin Chandra’s path breaking Bhojpuri film Deswa has now been selected for the prestigious South Asian Film Festival which will be organised at Goa from 15th September to 18th September, 2011. Excited with this new achievement, Nitin Chandra, the director of the movie said, “Deswa is not just a movie, it’s a movement. Deswa is a realistic Bhojpuri Cinema which has never been attempted in last 40 years. It is truly International because of its visual treatment and realistic performances. It is a movement, not only to take Bihar based Cinema to a respectful level but also to fillip the identity of Bihar through this medium. Deswa is fully shot with most expensive and technically advanced camera and crew giving it an international treatment with local flavor”.

It took 3 years for the makers to work on Deswa. It was shot last year from May to August at various locations, and this year it will be released commercially. The cast and crew will be present at Kala Academy, Goa during the screening. Incidentally, Deswa has highest number fan following on internet through social networking websites, Facebook and Orkut, among all Bihar based films.
